Control systems are composed by five main elements:sensors,transducers,transmitters, controllers, and final control elements or actuators. A programmable controller, PLC or a programmable logic controller, is a digital computer used for automation of typically industrial electromechanical processes, such as control of machinery on factory assembly lines, amusement rides etc. The devices that convert a controller command signal into a change in a physical parameter are called Actuators.Whenever something must be moved, a motor is usually at the source of most automated equipment, which is controlled by a drive.
Supervisory control and data acquisition, in short known as SCADA, is a system that operates with coded signals over communication channels so as to provide control of remote equipment using typically one communication channel per remote station.

A sensor is a device that converts a physical stimulus into a readable output. Integration of sensors into intelligent devices and systems has increased the capacity to measure, analyse, and aggregate data at a localized level. Autonomous and connected sensors are able to selectively sample and measure many physical properties. With the increasing cap
abilities of fixed-access and wireless networks, smart sensor developments allow the collection of raw data, which is processed into information and conveyed via a network connection.
The concept of sensor integration can be defined as an art of processing data from multiple sensors with an aim to replicate a physical environment or induce intelligence to control a phenomenon with increased precision and reliability. Recent advances in sensor technology and processing techniques, combined with improved hardware,make real-time fusion of data possible.
