FAQ’s

What is Automation?

Automation is a term, which is used to do a process or work very much easily and accurate using advanced machineries. This term or technology arises as the part of third generation of industrial revolution that is, Industry 3.0. In general, the term automation can be used in such an area where the human cannot perform. In the case of industries, there are wide varieties of automation systems are used nowadays such that PLC, SCADA, DCS, PAC, HMI etc.

Most of the industries are going to be automated now. Because there are many advantages we have, when changing to automation.

  1. Time saving.
  2. Increases the productivity.
  3. Reduces human risks.
  4. Better product quality.
  5. Improve security.
  6. Reduce job stress of employees.

Automation is of mainly 3 types:

  • Fixed Automation(Hard Automation)

Fixed automation or hard automation is usually related with the use of special purpose machines (SPM).Each of its operation sequences is generally simple, but once we automate the system, it is very difficult to give changes in the system, that’s why it is called Hard Automation.

Advantages:

  • Low cost.
  • Automated material handling.
  • High production rate.
  • Programmable Automation

In the case of programmable automation, we can accommodate changes in the sequence operations. Because, here the whole operations are controlled by a program, which is a set of instructions coded according to the operation sequence. We can create new programs to enter it into the equipment for producing new products or working the machine in a new sequence.

Advantages:

  • Flexible to deal with design variations.
  • Suitable for batch production.
  • Flexible Automation (Soft Automation )

Flexible automation is an extension of programmable automation. Here, this type of automation creates a variety of products with no time gap for changing from one part style to another. Here there is no production time is lost when we reprogram the system and altering physical equipment’s as per the program.

Advantages:

  • Continuous production of variable mixtures of product.
  • Flexible to deal with product design variations.

How to get Automation Jobs

Automation is a wide sector spread across many different fields of Industries. It can be found in Food & beverage industry, Automobile industries, Logistics departments, Manufacturing departments etc. & many more. So the chances to getting a job in automation sector are huge since each & every industry in the market is getting automated day by day. So, in the case of automation, the jobs are mainly based on experience and knowledge.

For a fresher, first try to learn about automation training systems thoroughly. If you have a clear idea about the automation systems like PLC, SCADA etc. then you will easily get an automation job. After get some experience you can jump to another companies which include MNCs also A recent survey stated that around 1 Million manual jobs are supposed to be replaced by Automation by 2026, hence the reason for importance & job scope of Automation. IPCS stands as the #1 Automation Training Center in India by a mile compared to others.

How to become an Automation Professional

To become an Automation professional the first thing you need is the passion to work on a core industry. The main components of an Automation System are PLC, SCADA, VFD, HMI, Control Panel etc. To control or develop an Automation system altogether, you must be capable to work on each of these components. Our main program Automation System Engineer is the main course developed especially for Fresher’s to be tailor made for industries. We do the same with 100% Practical training programs with International Certifications.

The professionalism will come only due to the knowledge about the particular term.

The learning will be important to become a professional. IPCS Conducts various professional Automation training courses in PLC training, DCS training, Home automation training, BMS training .If you want to become a professional you should learn or update the new technologies or new terms arises in the field of automation day by day.

What do you mean by PLC ?

A PLC or Programmable logic controller is basically a control unit to control the whole operations of an automation system. It sends commands of specific information to each unit of that system for coordinating the operations. The other Automation tools like SCADA, HMI etc are operating based on the signals from the PLC. So, we can say PLC is the brain of our Automation system. The mainly used PLCs nowadays are Allen Bradley, GE Fanuc, Omron, Schneider, Mitsubishi, Delta, Siemens and ABB etc.

How to become Professional in Control Panel ?

In the case of Electrical Control panel designing, you should learn about the basic structure of different types of panels. To become a professional in that you need thorough knowledge in different types of breakers, contractors relays etc. For that you should update yourself and learn about various types of wires used in panels. Not only learning you, should apply your own ideas in making a panel and which makes you more confident. That confidence makes you a perfect professional in control panel.

Whats is EMBEDDED Systems ?

Embedded systems are a branch of engineering arises from a combined study of software and hardware. Both aspects come together to create a functional targeting device that possesses the advantages of adaptability, speed, accuracy, reliability, power, fidelity and smaller size. An embedded system contains a wide demo of utility in the area of mobile communication, electronic payment solutions, railways, aeronautics, and automobiles. The key to utilizing embedded systems comes from alleviating real time calculation reticence, which they can perform exceedingly well. Main applications of the global embedded systems can be concisely formulated as applications, micro controller type, and functionality. A large number of highly powerful trends for embedded systems are visible in the fields of telecommunications, aerospace, defense, and healthcare. Each of these fields is making greater usage of embedded systems to perform complex functions with high accuracy and reliability. The scope of embedded systems grows even further with the birth of the Internet of things concept. IPCS is one of the best embedded training courses Institute in India, UAE, Qatar, Kenya, Singapore, Saudi Arabia. The increasing need for smart electronics and connected devices across various fields in the world is giving rise to a high demand for efficient embedded systems.

HOW TO BE AN EMBEDDED PROFESSIONAL

Step #1 : Learn ‘C’

C programming is the base of any embedded programming. Its the mother tongue of embedded programming and you should be expert in C and start thinking logic in ‘C

Step #2 : Start with a 8 Bit Micro Controller like PIC

What you should be doing with the kit.
1. Serial port programming
2.Work with (GPIOs) – LEDs and Switches
3.Timers.
4. Interrupts – Understand Interrupts, Test Interrupt Handlers.
5. Memory – Understand Memory organization, Code memory, etc.

Write programs on the board and check practically whatever you learn.

Step #3: Learn Interfacing & make your own bread board circuits
With C and Micro-controller programming you will be set onto the next level – Building something and learning from it. Microprocessors are heart of an embedded system which you can control programmatically. Embedded systems have many parts inside them like a timer, serial port, small memory, etc. But practically you cannot do anything with just a micro controller. Even for basic User interaction, you need to INTERFACE SOME PERIPHERAL to it. Learn to Interface & address the peripherals.
Interface and learn simple peripherals like the following

  1. A Keypad
    2. Seven Segment Displays
    3. External memory
  2. LEDs
next level tries an ADC and Stepper Motor as well. So “C – Micro Controller – Interfacing” the 3 steps to becoming an embedded professional!!

How to get job in embedded Systems

Embedded system is cutting edge branch. You should be updated about current technologies that are mainly used in embedded systems. Embedded System Company will only hire you if you have done some work related to Embedded Systems. So stop reading and start working on your passion.

Get the basics right!!

In every profession, getting the basics right is 50% of the success. If you chose embedded engineering then you should be STRONG in at least 2 things

  1. Electronics (Minimum – Electronic Principles, Digital Electronics, Microprocessors)
    2. Programming (Minimum – C)

An engineering degree with electronics background is appreciated but I would not say that every embedded engineer has an engineering background. I have seen some really great embedded engineers without formal degrees. But they have strong basics. IPCS conduct Various Embedded, IoT Training for freshers and Experienced Professionals.
