What is POE adapter?
Power over Ethernet adapter describes any of several standard or ad-hoc systems which pass electric power along with data on twisted pair Ethernet cabling. POE adapter allows a single cable to provide both data connection and electric power. It has two output cables one data and other power. POE adapter Plugging into the network connection, it can pull power, and convert it into low-voltage ranges as required.

A Power over Ethernet switch is a network switch that has Power over Ethernet injection built-in. simply connect other network devices to the switch as normal and the switch will detect whether they are Power over Ethernet compatible and enable power automatically. Power over Ethernet (Poe switch) switch are available as a single device or multi-port units. Multi-port injectors are available from a number of manufacturers and support standard Power over Ethernet or Poe power to multiple devices. They are available with 4-port, 8-port, 16-port, 24-port and even 64portconfigurations. Since these devices also pass the data on the network, make sure you select a Poe injector that meets your network speed. There are Poe switches available in 100 Megabit or Gigabit bandwidth.

Connect the router to the LAN port on the 4-port Poe switch using an Ethernet cable (cat5e or cat6); connect the power cable to the Poe switch and to a power outlet or surge pprotector. Connect IP cameras to port 1-4 on the Poe switch using the Ethernet extension cables.
