Cloud computing is a model for enabling ubiquitous convenient,on-demand network access to a shared pool of configurable computing resources(eg.networks, servers, storage, applications, and services)that can be rapidly provisioned and released with minimal management effort or service provider interaction. the cloud model promotes the availability and is composed of five essential characteristics, three service models, and four deployment models. The fusion of IoT and cloud technologies have specific applications in the industrial automation sector creating the Industrial Internet of Things. The cloud-based SCADA software is an established product with the features required to transport, store and present IIoT data. IIoT data can concisely define a system’s throughput and performance, and show where it is working well and where it is breaking down. The SCADA gateway is also a concentrator of sorts.while the data concentrator pre-processes and refines various data streams locally, the gateway consolidates various data concentrator streams into a single common accessibility platform. Gateways continue the concentration process at a higher level of functionality and can offer other direct capabilities such as diagnostics and SCADA. Systems operating in a cloud are often cheaper, easier, and more efficient, and SCADA systems are no exception. A cloud-based SCADA system can be set up much faster, and one can often be operating in a matter of hours (instead of months needed for a traditional system). it costs a lot less than the traditional type. These will save you time and money over both the short and long-term, and it allows for much more flexibility when anything needs to be updated or changed.
